While these kitchen gadgets are simple to use and care for, there are a few key things to bear in mind. Our guide will help get your baking career off to a flying start.

The Knowhow:

Before using your cake maker for the first time:

  • Wipe the inside and outside with a damp cloth
  • Dry well with a tea towel

Cleaning your cupcake maker:

  • Make sure the cake machine is unplugged and has fully cooled
  • Wipe the non-stick surfaces with a damp cloth
  • If you need to use soapy water, apply this to the cloth first and ensure it is completely wiped away
  • Never use scouring pads or metal cleaning tools - these can damage the non-stick surface
  • Gently use a plastic-bristled brushes or nylon pads to remove any remaining dirt
  • Wipe the surfaces dry with a tea towel

Safety advice for your cake machine:

  • Never put your cupcake maker in water - this can cause dangerous electrical faults
  • Always unplug the device after use
  • Do not use your machine if it has been dropped or appears damaged
  • Don't put the cupcake maker in the oven or on a heated hob
  • Always use the device on a stable surface
  • The bottom of your cupcake maker will get hot - Don't use it on a surface that can be damaged by heat
