The Knowhow
How do I activate my Knowhow Cloud account?
-
Click on the button below to get started with activating your Cloud account:

- In the box provided, enter the TXN code from your receipt or email confirmation and click Sign Up
- Enter the SKU code from your receipt or email confirmation and click Continue
- You will now be asked for your details and to create a login; follow the on-screen instructions and Continue
- Next, you will be asked to enter credit card details. Please note: You will not be charged anything at this time - your card will only be used if you choose to upgrade your account or renew your subscription at the end of the period you have already paid for.
-
When completed, you can download the compatible Cloud software for your computer and, or tablet/smartphone:

First time use - installing the desktop software:
After downloading the software, you may need to restart your computer. Once restarted, the Cloud software will automatically load and continue the installation:
- Type the email and password for your Cloud account (that you just created), then click Sign In
- Place a tick next to the folder(s) you want to automatically back up. If the folder you want isn't shown in the list, click on 'Add Folder' to browse for it. When you have finished choosing, click Next.
- Depending on how many folders you have selected, this process can take some time
- Once you have completed the setup process, the Cloud software will start uploading the folders you selected
- You can view your uploaded files at anytime through the Cloud apps or by logging into your account from a web browser
Please note: Depending on the amount of data you are uploading and your internet speed, this may take a very long time. This can potentially take several days for larger jobs. You can still use your computer and the internet while the upload takes place. We recommend you don't turn your computer off until the initial upload has completed as doing so will pause the process, making it take longer.
Once the first upload is complete, future backups will be much faster as the Cloud software only updates files you have added or made changes to. For example, uploading a word document and some music files may only take a few minutes.
Where can I find my SKU / TXN numbers?
When you are activating your Knowhow Cloud account for the first time, you will be asked for:
- A TXN number (in store purchases), or an Order Reference Number (online purchases)
- A SKU code
Both of these numbers can be found:
- On your receipt (if you bought in store)
- From your confirmation email (if you bought online)
The TXN number is a long number used to validate your purchase. It can also be found on your receipt:
The Order Reference number is when you orderded online. You will find the Order Reference Number from your confirmation email.
The number will look similar to the examples below:
- CURxxxxxx (if you bought from Currys online)
- PCWxxxxxx (if you bought from PC World online)
- DIXxxxxxx (if you bought from Dixons)
- NTxxxx-xxxxxx (if you bought from Harrods online)
The SKU code is a 6 digit number and can be found on your receipt or confirmation email:
