Manufacturers will often update the software in their products after they’ve been released. This lets them iron out any little bugs and add improvements that customers have suggested. These updates may be new versions of the software that came with the camera, updated drivers that help the computer communicate with it better, or improved firmware that help the systems and functions on the camera itself.

- Before running any updates, double check you have selected the right updates for your particular product. Many files have very similar names but can feature significant differences.
- Only ever download updates directly from the manufacturer’s website to be sure of receiving the latest and correct updates.
