With the Euro being the main currency in more European countries, there’s an increasing need to be able to type the Euro sign quickly and easily. Most UK keyboards list a € alongside the 4, but pressing that number with shift only produces the $ Dollar sign. For those of you with your fingers on the financial pulse, here’s a guide to exchanging your Dollars to Euros.

The Knowhow

Most keyboards have the Euro symbol on the 4 key at the top of your keyboard, but some combine it with the 5 or the E key.

To add € you need to use one of the following key combinations, replacing the 4 with the appropriate key if your layout differs:

Hold Alt Gr and 4

Hold Ctrl and Alt, then press 4

Alt GR key on keyboard for euro symbol   +  4 key on keyboard for euro curreny

4 key on keyboard for euro curreny   +   4 key on keyboard for euro curreny

It’s worth trying both key combinations to see which works best for you.

It’s as simple as that - your currency is converted and you’re ready to do business across the continent.
