Today’s busy lifestyles mean we don’t always have time for the luxury of a wet shave. That’s why electric shavers are becoming increasingly popular, and the latest top brands like Philips, Remington and Braun really do a great job when you’re on the move. And like everything, they need regular maintenance to enable them to keep up the good work. They tend to get clogged up and greasy, so we’ve come up with a few basic tips on how to clean a men’s shaver.

The Knowhow

  • Take off the shaver guard and blow any trimmings away. Repeat this every few shaves
  • There are a number of shaver sprays designed to clean and lubricate the blades. These are excellent for prolonging the device’s lifespan and should be used every few months
  • If you use a foil shaver, it’s best to take the foil off for cleaning. This lets you get good access to the inner shaving blades. Use a small cleaning brush to remove any trimmings
  • Take care of cleaning the foil - it can be dented quite easily which can lead to a rough shave

We recommend you clean your shaver once a week.
