My Sat Nav - Why won't it stick to the windscreen?
Rating 3out of 5
Many of us won’t venture into the car without our trusty (well most of the time!) Sat Nav. No more driving while balancing a map book on our knees or constantly stopping to ask people directions. Mostly, they make life easier, safer and quicker; but you can come unstuck when your Sat Nav stops sticking. It can be a real shock if your Sat Nav comes flying off the windscreen as you are zooming along the motorway. Not to mention how dangerous it is to balance the unit on your knee or hold it in one hand as you are driving along. Here’s how to get your Sat Nav sticking again:
Check the window and the suction pad are both clean of dirt, grease and any car cleaning products
Dampen the suction pad slightly, press firmly onto the window and hold for a few seconds
Check the suction pads for a pin-holes or cracks
If the simple steps above don’t work you could invest in a mounting platform or ’nav-mat’ which should hold the unit firmly in place. These are devices which stick or attach to the dashboard or window.
Hopefully these tips will do the trick and you will be on the right road to travelling safely with your Sat Nav.
