The Slingbox lets you watch your home television channels from anywhere in the world by sending TV signals through an internet connection. Once it's conected to the TV via your satellite, cable or digitbox and linked to your PC through a router, you'll have instant access to all your much-loved shows through the Slingbox website.

Before you jet off somewhere sunny you need to make sure the Slingbox is setup correctly. Our guide on setting up the Slingbox should get you connected in no time.

You'll need:

  • Windows or MAC based PC
  • High speed internet connection with router
  • A/V source, such as a DVR,  set-top box, DVD/Blu Ray player or a satellite receiver (there are over 10,000 Slingbox-compatible sources);

You can then connect the Slingbox to the device you want to control control using an S-Video, Composite Video or Coaxial Aerial Cable.

Note: Depending on which Slingbox you have, you can connect to multiple outlets

Attach the Ethernet cable into the Slingbox and then into the back of the router. If using Wi-Fi, allow the Slingbox to have access.

Now go to

When completed you'll be given a Finder ID. Write this down somewhere safe as you'll need this to have access when you're away.

Next, download the Slingbox software onto all the compatible devices you want to watch your TV on

When you want to watch your TV on another device, you'll need to logon to the Slingbox website and put in your Finder ID as mentioned.

You can watch live shows and have access to recorded programmes on your digital video recorder (DVR), for example, a Sky or Virgin box
