Follow the below steps to reinstall McAfee Internet Security Software on your Windows computer.

The Knowhow

  1. Visit home.mcafee.com in your web browser and click on the Log In button at the top right corner.
  2. Type in the email address and password for your Mcafee account here and press Log In.
  3. Next, click on the ‘My Account’ link at the top left corner.
  4. An account overview page will be shown. Click on the name of the computer here that you are reinstalling the software on then click on the Reinstall link. If you are installing on a different computer, you can press the plus (+) tab at the top instead.
  5. Next, click on the check box to indicate that you accept the agreement with Mcafee for the use of the software then click on the red Download button.
  6. A download prompt will appear at the bottom of your screen. Click on the Run, Open or ‘Mcafee setup file depending on which browser you are using.
  7. After a few moments a ‘User Account Control’ box will appear asking for permission to install. Press Yes or Continue to proceed.
  8. The McAfee installer will open. Press Next or OK on any prompts to proceed with the install process.
  9. McAfee will begin to download and install on your computer. Wait for this to complete.
  10. Near the end of the install, you will be asked if you want your copy of Mcafee to be part of the Mcafee Customer Response scheme. This does not effect the install whichever option you choose, so press Next when you have decided.
  11. Your copy of Mcafee is now installed. Press the Done button to complete the process.
